Yesterday a little after 4 Jerid calls me… “your daughter is throwing a fit, she left her puppy at school” ok…here’s the story…a while back I got her a puppy from Life Way that has a ribbon around its neck that says jesus loves me. Its sat in her room, she never played with it. Two nights ago I had him up on her bed and told her all her stuffed animals would cry if she didn’t sleep in there with them. I picked them up one by one and when we get to that dog she hugs him. ok yesterday morning she decides she wants to take him to school. plays all day, goes to extended care, daddy gets her and they get in the car and apparently she realizes the dog is missing. She’s bawling squalling kicking the chair the whole bit. So he calls me. Puts me on speakerphone so I can calm her down.
Me… baby what’s wrong?
<Cry>
Me… KayeLeigh…stop crying and tell me what’s wrong.
<Cry and cry >
...This goes on for a little bit...
Me…baby calm down
KK…I lost my dog at school
Me you left him there?
KK uh huh
Me…he’ll be ok, we’ll get him tomorrow
(the biggest cry you’ve ever heard) I LEFT JESUS AT SCHOOL
So I proceed to calm her down and tell her we have other stuffed animals, he’s in her cubby all safe and warm and she can get him first thing. She’s still crying and “no I want Jesus” and I said “are you sure he’s not in your backpack?” she said “no?” and then I hear the backpack shuffling and then there’s a squeal and she said “I have him!! I HAVE JESUS”
Later last night I took a picture of her with Jesus...
